The Wisconsin FFA Foundation was started in 1983 as a non-profit organization to financially support the activities of the Wisconsin Association of FFA. Through our strong partnerships with individual and business donors, we are able to provide consistent fiscal resources necessary to sustain and grow the opportunities provided to Wisconsin FFA members.
The Foundation is led by a board of directors, comprised of agricultural leaders from across the state and representatives from all the Wisconsin Ag Ed/FFA organizations. Day-to-day leadership and operations are conducted by three staff members – two full-time and one part-time.
Mission and Values
The Wisconsin FFA Foundation builds partnerships with industry, education, government, foundations and individuals to secure resources to support the FFA mission.
The National FFA Organization is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
- We value the cooperation of all FFA-related organizations and partners.
- We value all aspects of the efforts to support agricultural education.
- We believe that the future of the agriculture industry is dependent on our students.
- We value independent and united strategic planning amongst the members of Team Ag Ed to advance common goals.
Wisconsin FFA was started in 1929. As its list of programs grew, so did its expenses. The Wisconsin FFA Foundation was founded in 1983 with the primary goal of seeking funds to run state-level FFA programs.
The Foundation was started by Arnold and Katherine Cordes, who previously served in other leadership roles for Wisconsin FFA for many years. They started the Foundation from their own home. Through their one-on-one contacts and hand-kept records, they raised about $85,700 over the first two years. Over 30 years later, we correspond through email, phone and direct mail, all records are kept electronically and donors contribute over $500,000 annually.
Through all the growth and change, we remain good stewards of the donations by humbly employing the equivalent of just two employees and budgeting less than 20 percent of all funds raised for administrative purposes. We look forward to continual growth!
